Contrary to embroidered patches (stitches on a twill base), woven patches are made by interlacing fine threads. As a result:

  • The edges are clean, the small text is legible, and the logos are tight.
  • Thinner and more flexible than typical embroidery.
  • It’s perfect for minimalist or detailed marks because it’s smooth.

You’ll need them if your design has small lettering, thin lines, QR marks, flags, or intricate icons that must be readable at 2 to 3 inches.

Woven Patch Design Tips

  • Be mindful of minimums: Keep strokes and text above practical thresholds; we’ll flag anything risky.
  • To make it easier to recognize, make sure the foreground and background colors are clearly separated.
  • Make gradients simple: Woven can suggest gradients via dithered threads; we’ll convert artwork.
  • The placement should be between 2.25 and 3.25 inches on caps, 2.5 to 4″ on chest logos, and 1 to 2 inches on sleeves.
