Identification, Professionalism, and Community Trust—Built for Duty

Identification, Professionalism, and Community Trust—Built for Duty

Patches aren’t just uniform accents—they’re official identifiers that show your agency, rank, and role in the community. We make duty-grade patches for everyday patrols, special operations, academy training, and community events at AquaPatches (a product of AquaDigitizing). Whether it’s a high-visibility traffic unit or K9/SWAT insignia, we’re focused on clarity, durability, and compliance.

Police patches: What Are They?

Patches on uniforms, outerwear, carriers, and caps are textiles or PVC. Commonly, they’re:

  • Shields and seals of agencies, municipalities, and states
  • The identifiers of the divisions and units (Patrol, K9, SWAT, Traffic, Marine, Air Support)
  • Role (Officer, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain)
  • Name & service tapes, badge numbers (if allowed)
  • Patches for events, memorials, and fundraisers

You should follow your department’s uniform policy, procurement standards, and any state/national guidelines when designing official insignia. Depending on your SOP, we provide subdued or high-vis variants.

AquaPatches: Why Agencies Love Them

  • Tight stitch density and rugged twill or PVC with wipe-clean surfaces for rain and abrasion.
  • Aim for arm's-length readability: We size line art and letter heights to be legible even in low light.
  • For tactical, subdued colors (black, OD, coyote, gray); for traffic and event details, high-visibility.
  • The attachment options are hook-and-loop, sew-on, and iron-on (for non-duty garments).
  • To keep fleets uniform, we store approved specs, colors, and sizes.
  • Pricing & timelines that are transparent: Clear quotes, milestone proofs, and tracked delivery.

Styles & Materials (choose by assignment)

Patches embroidered with police logos
Shields and ranks look classic and textured. Perfect for patrol uniforms where depth improves recognition.

Woven Police Patches
A slim profile and high-resolution detail are perfect for small type, seals, and multi-language text.

Tactical patches made of PVC
It’s weatherproof, wipeable, and has 3D relief. It’s great for outer carriers, rain shells, and gear exposed to mud and salt.

High-visibility/reflective accents
You can wear reflective threads or film for traffic units, night operations, and school zones (per policy).

Borders, Backings, and Common Sizes

The border

  • Shields and rectangles look great with the rounded edge.
  • Heat/laser-cut: Precise contours for tabs, rockers, and agency-specific silhouettes.

Backings

  • Velcro® (hook-and-loop): Easily removed for washing, changing outer carriers, or seasonal uniforms.
  • Uniforms and dress shirts sewn on are the most durable.
  • You can iron on compatible fabrics for non-duty apparel, academy tees, or outreach.

Sizes (reference, may vary)

  • Height of shoulder shield: 3-4.25 inches
  • ID of chest: 3-4 inches wide, 1-1 1/2 inches high
  • Each garment panel has a name/service tape that’s 1″ tall
  • Identifiers on the back of outerwear: 8-12″ wide text “POLICE” or unit identifiers

High-visibility vs. subdued

High-visibility

High-vis (fluorescent, reflective): traffic control, events, school details, maritime/airport zones.

subdued

Low-glare (OD, ranger green, coyote, gray/black): Perfect for tactical units.

To avoid “vibration” and ensure fast recognition, we proof colors against navy, black, charcoal, tan, and common carrier fabrics.

Artwork , Compliance (Practical Guide) & Options

Options specific to each unit

  • Salt-resistant PVC options; wind/rain-proof construction.

Rotation, durability, and care

  • Keep hook covered when storing hook-loop garments.
  • For sew-on uniforms, use durable thread and bar-tack stress points.
  • Rinse grit off, wipe dry. Don't let it sit in high heat for too long.
  • Keeping subdued/high-vis versions packaged and labeled for quick rotation is a good idea.

Design and Pricing

Design for Instant Recognition

  • The agency name or “POLICE” is first; the unit/rank comes second; the motto comes last.
  • Letter heights are tuned to reading distance. Typeface: Clear, non-condensed fonts.
  • We test colorways on your garment fabric, so there’s no low-contrast traps.
  • On navy/black uniforms, border colors frame without haloing.

Costs and Pricing

  • Material & build: embroidery vs. woven vs. PVC; reflective vs. specialty.
  • Size and complexity: crest details, small text, or multilingual.
  • Backing and kitting: hook-and-loop sets, sew-on sets, ceremony cards.
  • Bulk discounts are available for department-wide orders.
We’ll also make cost-friendly adjustments (e.g., resizing or refining micro-elements) without compromising policy.
